Nearly 40 Sensors To Learn and Interact
Pleo can see, feel and detect objects around him, allowing autonomous movement and interaction, which means he can learn and explore the surroundings he’s in. The robotic dinosaur has a built in color camera and bright light sensor which enables him to detect bright lights in dark areas like a torch, see colors, track a moving object and detect objects in front of him.
Pleo Dinosaur Can Hear
Pleo has two ears either side of his head allowing him to determine direction and loudness from any sound made. The Pleo dinosaur has an infrared receiver and transmitter for interacting with other Pleos. Sensors will detect anything placed in the mouth and the training leaf supplied will trigger Pleo to chew with the appropriate sounds played through the front speaker in the head.
Sensitive to Touch
Pleo has touch sensors under his chin, the top of his head, front shoulders, on his back near the base of the tail and touch sensors on all four legs. All these sensors allow Pleo to feel strokes and patting from you and he reacts accordingly. The skin is constructed from a soft thermoplastic that is decorated in realistic natural colors.
High Tec Movement Motors
Pleo has 14 electric motors for articulated movement and each motor can sense resistance if grabbed forcefully which will shut down the lifeform to avoid damage. Pleo will sometimes reflect forceful grabs by limping and you’ll have to nuture him back to health over time.
Sensors on Pleo’s feet allow him to detect when he has been picked up and the tilt and shake sensors in the body detect when Pleo has fallen or turned upside down.
